The Vis Magic 10 variety is part of the semi-late maturing group, it blooms at the same time as the C-90 variety. The plant is a semi-perennial shrub with a vigorous habitus and a compact plant shape. The height of the plants is 61.1 cm, the diameter of the plants is 87.1 cm and they form up to 451 flower stalks per plant. The fruit is a small, smooth, elongated brown nut. MMB=0.6 g.
Raw material production is 6.8-9.0 t/ha, essential oil content – 3.668-4.224 % (s.u), and essential oil production is from 84.1 to 125.3 kg/ha in depending on pedoclimatic conditions. It has a high resistance to drought, frost and winter. The field of use of the respective variety – the production of essential oil and pharmaceutical raw material.

The originator and maintainer of the Vis Magic 10 variety is the Institute of Genetics, Physiology and Plant Protection, authors – Maria Gonceariuc, Zinaida Balmuș.
The Vis Magic 10 variety is protected by Plant Variety Patent number MD 74 of 31.07.2010, granted by the State Agency for Intellectual Property.
2022
Under conditions of production of the Vis Magic 10 variety, in the summer of 2022, on the plantation with the planting scheme of 1.5 x 0.5 m, a harvest of inflorescences of 3 210 kg was obtained, from which 39 kg were extracted of essential oil. The essential oil productivity per ton of green inflorescence mass was 12 kg of oil (1.2%). The results of the chemical analysis of the obtained essential oil is shown in the image on the right, in tabular form.
2021
Under production conditions of the Vis Magic 10 variety, in the summer of 2021, on the plantation of the 4th year, the planting scheme of 1.4 x 0.5 m, a crop of inflorescences of approx. 0.94 tons, from which approx. 11.2 kg of essential oil. The productivity of essential oil per ton of green mass of inflorescences was approx. 12 kg of oil (1.2%). The results of the chemical analysis of the obtained essential oil is presented in the image on the right, in tabular and chromatogram form.
2020
Under conditions of production of the Vis Magic 10 variety, in the summer of 2020, on the plantation of the 3rd year with the area of 0.25 ha, the planting scheme of 1.4 x 0.5 m, a harvest of inflorescences of approx. . 0.66 tons (2.64t/ha) from which approx. 8.5 kg (34 kg/ha) of essential oil. The productivity of essential oil per ton of green mass of inflorescences was 12.87 kg (1.287%). The results of the chemical analysis of the obtained essential oil is presented in the image on the right, in tabular and chromatogram form.
The less pleasant experience of 2019 is related to the “DROUGHT RESISTANCE” of the VIS MAGIC 10 lavender variety !!!The application results show a very different situation compared to the declared characteristics of the respective variety, a fact that raises a lot of question marks. Details HERE.

2019
Under conditions of production of the Vis Magic 10 variety, in the summer of 2019, on the plantation of the 2nd year with the surface of 0.25 ha, the planting scheme of 1.4 x 0.5 m, a harvest of inflorescences of approx. . 0.68 tons (2.72t/ha) from which approx. 11 kg (44 kg/ha) of essential oil. The productivity of essential oil per ton of green mass of inflorescences was 16.17 kg (1.617%). The results of the chemical analysis of the obtained essential oil is presented below in tabular form and chromatogram.
